KodeKamp is born out of necessity.
We realised development in Africa is slower than other parts of the world not because it lacks the skill or brains, but because it lacks access to information at an early stage. KodeKamp provides young adults with critical thinking skills to enable them to solve everyday problems, discover their creative instincts and increase their market value in the competitive global market. We believe in providing a student-centered learning system where all our students are allowed to learn at their own pace. We provide them with the right learning resources, environment and via our dedicated mentors, we are able to develop the natural skills of children. At KodeKamp, we use a set of informal learning tools to provide young people with a fun and relaxed environment to learn and create.
Our model is a student centered learning system. The goal is to empower African young people with ICT education in a fun and safe environment.
There is absolutely no reason why young adults should be excluded from competing in the global market. The fact that opportunity is not evenly distributed and often times, is the determining factor between who succeeds and who fails is the reason why we started KodeKamp. So young kids around Africa can have as much access to technology as other kids in the first world. As we have seen and the numbers show, children who begin their learning process early and are equipped with the skills necessary to stand up in the world make it the farthest. Bill Gates built Microsoft because he had access to computers at a very young age. Jeff Bezos made amazon into what it is today because he had a lot of opportunities in his life and the support of people who took a chance on him. Every kid should have equal opportunity to succeed and we are betting on all African children.
Life happens when we are busy making plans and it is not just enough to wait, if we start today and take up the opportunities presented to us today, tomorrow could be a whole different story. Africa houses the next Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. We know this. We believe this and we will continue to pursue distributing access to education and technology for all young adults.
Science and technology has changed the world as we know it. We want African children to also take part in shaping the world that they live in. We cannot be passive consumers anymore, we must become active change makers.
We are driven by values
“For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You’d be surprised how far that gets you.”
― Neil deGrasse Tyson
We believe it. We work towards it. We achieve it.
We will not stop until every African child wakes up knowing his future is secured because he has access to all of the information and skills necessary to succeed.
We work with a team of technology leaders to build the best learning tools for kids.
